NASCAR Kansas 2013: Start time, TV schedule for STP 400

Matt Kenseth will lead the field from the pole position for the STP 400 at Kansas Speedway on Sunday. Here’s how to watch.

USA TODAY Sports

Matt Kenseth won pole position on Friday for the 2013 STP 400 at Kansas Speedway, beating out Carl Edwards and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Kenseth will lead the field off the line Sunday, when the eighth event in this year’s NASCAR Sprint Cup gets underway at 1 p.m. ET.

Kenseth doesn’t often find himself in pole position. He won qualifying for the first time in 26 races, and just the ninth time in his 480-race career, with a track-record lap of 191.864 mph. The rest of the top ten from qualifying includes, in order, Sam Hornish Jr., Kyle Busch, Aric Almirola, Martin Truex Jr., Mark Martin, Ryan Newman and Clint Bowyer.

Further back, Danica Patrick will start in 25th position. Jeff Gordon will start in last place among the field of 43 drivers after crashing during qualifying. He will be driving a replacement car as a result.
