NASCAR Martinsville 2013: Start time, TV schedule for STP Gas Booster 500

Martinsville could be the setting for some NASCAR throwdowns on Sunday.

Jared C. Tilton

The NASCAR Sprint Cup heads to Martinsville on Sunday for the STP Gas Booster 500. The track seems to bring out all of the bad blood in the circuit year after year and this one is no different.

Dal Earnhardt Jr. enters the race as the Sprint Cup points leader and is aiming for his sixth straight top-10 finish, but he will start back at 17th. Jimmie Johnson will start on the poll next to Marcos Ambrose, while Brian Vickers and Joey Logano are in the second row. But the focus isn’t so much on the potential series or race winners as much as who might throw down off the track.

Denny Hamlin won’t be one of the guys stirring things up because he is out of the race with a compression fracture in his back, which has put his feud with Logano on hold, but Logano and Tony Stewart might make some fireworks of their own. Logano blocked Stewart’s restart last week, drawing the ire of the veteran Stewart, who has never been afraid to toe the line, and even go over it.

The green flag drops at 1 p.m. ET, and you can catch the race live on FOX.
