Southern Super Series: Bubba Pollard regains championship lead after Miller Lite 125

Bubba Pollard lost the championship lead on Friday night at Pensacola Five Flags Speedway but regained it on Saturday night when he finished fourth in the Miller Lite 125.

Despite falling to the tail end of the field before the halftime break of Saturday’s race at Mobile International Speedway, Bubba Pollard rallied to finish fourth in the Miller Lite 125.

It was just enough for him to recapture the top spot in the championship standings from Daniel Hemric, who finished eighth one night after taking the top spot from Pollard at Pensacola.

Augie Grill was the big winner -- in both the race and the championship standings - remaining in third but bridging his championship gap to just 53 points behind Pollard. John Hunter Nemechek moved up to fourth based on his runner-up finish in Mobile.

Mike Garvey rounds out the top-five heading into the AR Bodies 125 at Montgomery Motor Speedway. That event will feature a live radio broadcast by Speed 51. SB Nation will also attend the event, providing content and coverage via the author’s Twitter account.
