A day after being called a “stupid idiot” and an “ogre” by Kyle Busch, Ryan Newman responded and said Busch “better be able to back running his mouth.”
Ryan Newman responds to Kyle Busch: ‘He better be able to back running his mouth’
Ryan Newman responded to Kyle Busch’s comments Monday, warning him to be careful.

Newman’s comments came Monday during an appearance on “SiriusXM Speedway,” which was hosted by Dave Moody and aired on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
“I’m just afraid if I rearranged his face, I might fix it,” Newman said of Busch. “... We know he’s not very bright. He’s a heck of a talent. But he’s just not very bright and I’ll leave it at that.”
But Newman wasn’t done.
”It seems like after his comments about me not having a ride and all that stuff, seems like he’s got way more to lose than I do,” he said. “I think he might check his trap there before he gets too ahead of himself.
“If he’s going to run his mouth, he better be able to back running his mouth.”
The response came after Busch called out Newman Sunday for starting a wreck that collected his brother Kurt Busch, who led a race-high 102 laps. On lap 226 of 302 both of the Busch brothers, Newman, Matt Kenseth and Brad Keselowski were racing for position when Kurt Busch got loose and slid into Newman. Both drivers sustained significant damage.
Afterward, Kyle Busch defended his older sibling and blamed Newman for triggering the accident.
“Ryan Newman is the biggest stupid idiot out here,” Kyle said in an interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. “He’s a big ogre and can do whatever he wants because he can probably kick anybody’s butt. So no sense getting in a fight with him. Glad he’s out of a job.”
When asked specifically Monday about contact between himself and Kyle Busch, Newman acknowledged the two touched but didn’t understand why Busch was so angry.
“I admit to goring Kyle down the straightaway after he blasted me into the corner,” Newman said. “I didn’t crash him, he didn’t crash me. I don’t know what he’s got to be mad about.”
