With its postponement due to rain, the World Crown 300 has created a shift in the remaining races of the inaugural Southern Super Series schedule.

Rainouts and cancellations have altered the remaining races on the inaugural Southern Super Series schedule. Dates have been rearranged and lost but the schedule will remain at 16 races.

The World Crown 300 was originally scheduled for July 4 but rain canceled the event for just the second time in its 30-year history. The event has since been rescheduled for August 10 -- the date of the final scheduled Southern Super Series event at Gresham Motorsports Park, leaving the tour with one less event than previously scheduled.
But Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville stepped in and added the missing date to their own schedule and the Southern Super Series will run their second event in Nashville of the season on Sept. 7. The event will be held in conjunction with the Tennessee State Fair, which will give fans additional incentive to head out to the speedway.
“We look forward to the addition of the September 7 date to our schedule and the Southern Super Series schedule,” Fairgrounds Speedway promoter Tony Formosa said in a track release. “It’s going to be really special because it’s going to give fans the opportunity to go to the Fair and see the Southern Super Series race for just $8.
“Fans can go to any Kroger in the Nashville area and get a $4 discount coupon, bring it to the State Fair and you can use that to see the races and go to the fair for $8 instead of $12.”
The additional stop at the historic Nashville half-mile will give teams one last tune-up before the historic All-American 400 on Nov. 2 -- the final race on the inaugural Southern Super Series calendar.
