2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup standings: Jimmie Johnson sits atop leaderboard

Johnson remains at the top after a quiet weekend for the Sprint Cup Series.

While Joey Logano was busy winning the Nationwide Series STP 300 at Chicagoland, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series was inactive over the weekend, meaning point standings remain unchanged.

Jimmie Johnson sits atop the leaderboard after his sixth-place finish at the Camping World RV Sales 301 on July 15, more than 50 points ahead of second-place Clint Bowyer. Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski, both top-10 finishers in New Hampshire, were the only drivers to make up ground against Johnson that weekend, and currently sit in seventh and ninth place, respectively. Kasey Kahn remains 173 points off the lead after breaking into the top 10 last week with an 11th-place finish in New Hampshire.

Sprint Cup action resumes on July 28 with the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where the field will try to chip into Johnson’s lead.

Here’s the top of the leaderboard as it currently stands. For complete standings, visit NASCAR.com:
