Jimmie Johnson created a little more breathing room in the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup standings with a dominant victory at the Coke Zero 400 on Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway.

Johnson completed a season sweep at Daytona over the weekend, and he remains atop the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings with the victory. However, Clint Bowyer took over the No. 2 spot from Carl Edwards.


Johnson went into the race 38 points ahead of Carl Edwards, and his lead now sits at 49 points ahead of Clint Bowyer, who finished fourth. Johnson’s victory gave him a season sweep for the year at Daytona, the first time that has been done in 31 years.
Edwards fell back to third place in the Sprint Cup standings with a 29th place finish at Daytona. Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch made the biggest moves of the week thanks to a pair of stellar performances. Stewart finished second at Daytona and moved up six spots in the standings to No. 10. Busch placed sixth at Daytona and is up to No. 9 in the standings.
