Daytona 500 live streaming 2014: How to watch online, TV schedule and more

NASCAR’s premier event begins in earnest on Sunday afternoon, as 43 drivers will compete in the 55th Daytona 500. But two Joe Gibbs Racing drivers are the clear favorites.

Matt Kenseth and Denny Hamlin enter the Daytona 500 coming off superb Speedweeks. After winning the Sprint Unlimited and the second Budweiser Duel, Hamlin will try for the Daytona sweep when he starts from the fourth position on Sunday. Kenseth will start next to Hamlin in the third position after leading 31 of 60 laps to win the first Budweiser duel.

As the winner of the 2009 and 2012 races, Kenseth is in great position to seal his third win at Daytona. It doesn’t hurt that the likes of Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart and Clint Bowyer will start at the back of the field after crashing out of the second Budweiser Duel on the final lap.

But as any racing fan will tell you, all bets are off when it comes to restrictor plate racing. That makes Sunday’s race must-watch television.

Speaking of television, coverage will begin at 12 p.m. ET on Fox. All the usual NASCAR on Fox personalities will return this season with Mike Joy, Darrell Waltrip and Larry McReynolds calling the action from the booth when the green flag waves around 1:19 p.m.

For those who prefer listening along on the radio, the always-impressive Motor Racing Network will also begin coverage at noon. Sirius XM Satellite NASCAR Radio 90 will air the race at 1 p.m. Fans can get a taste of both worlds by listening to MRN and watching the track with NASCAR.com’s RaceView. The program requires a subscription, however.

Keep in mind that rain is in the forecast for Daytona Beach on Sunday afternoon, which could impact both the race and whichever broadcast you choose to tune into.
