The NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup moves to Alabama on Sunday afternoon for the CampingWorld.com 500 from Talladega Superspeedway, an elimination race and the sixth of 10 weeks of the 2015 NASCAR playoffs.

This is the third of three races in the second round of the playoffs, after races at Charlotte and Kansas. The field of drivers still alive for the championship will be pared from 12 down to eight after Sunday’s race, based on points from this three-week set. Joey Logano is the only automatic qualifier after wins the past two weeks.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. currently ranks 11th among those 12 drivers, needing a win in Talladega to stay alive for the 2015 title.

“I need to be in the lead with 30 or 20 to go to have a really, really good shot at it,” Earnhardt said on Friday. “If not, it’s going to be a bit more difficult task to get that lead.”

Earnhardt has won this race three times, though the last time he won it was in 2004. His father won the race seven times.

NBCSN will televise the race beginning with a prerace Countdown to Green show at 2 p.m. ET. The full race coverage begins at 2:30 p.m. with Rick Allen calling the action alongside analysts Jeff Burton and Steve Letarte, with Marty Snider, Mike Massaro, Rutledge Wood, Kelli Stavast and Dave Burns from pit row.

The race can be followed online and via mobile devices through NBC Sports Live Extra. The race will re-air on NBCSN Monday at 2 p.m. ET.
