NASCAR Homestead 2015: Lineup, starting grid for Ford EcoBoost 400

Four drivers are in the mix for NASCAR’s biggest prize Sunday afternoon near Miami, with the Ford EcoBoost 400 deciding the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship from Homestead-Miami Speedway.

After nine of the 10 races in NASCAR’s playoff system, The Chase for the Sprint Cup, the 16-driver field was gradually whittled down to the final four contenders on Sunday.

Kyle Busch, looking for his first Sprint Cup Championship, starts in third position at Homestead, the highest of the four drivers still vying the 2015 ultimate prize. Denny Hamlin, no longer active in The Chase for the Sprint Cup, but a two-time winner of the Ford EcoBoost 400, captured the pole position with a qualifying speed of 176.655 mph on Friday.

Kevin Harvick, the 2014 Sprint Cup champion, starts in 13th position on Sunday. He won the 2014 race at Homestead as well, on the way to clinching his first title.

Jeff Gordon, a four-time Sprint Cup Champion, starts his final career race in fifth position. He won this Homestead race once, in 2012.

Martin Truex, Jr. whose highest finish in the Sprint Cup championship before this year was 11th (2007, 2012), looks for his first title on Sunday from the 11th position.

NBC will provide pre-race coverage Sunday starting at 1:30 p.m. ET with NASCAR America, followed by an hour-long Countdown to Green at 2 p.m., with race coverage beginning at 3 p.m. and the green flag at approximately 3:15 p.m.

Rick Allen will call the race alongside analysts Steve Letarte and Jeff Burton, with pit reporters Dave Burns, Mike Massaro, Marty Snider, and Kelli Stavast.
