NASCAR Richmond 2015: Lineup, starting grid for Toyota Owners 400

Amber Searls-USA TODAY Sports

Joey Logano currently ranks second in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points leaderboard, but he’ll start first on Sunday, in pole position for the Toyota Owners 400 from Richmond International Raceway in Virginia.

Logano captured the pole position with a qualifying speed of 127.071 mph on Friday in Richmond, good for his third pole position of the season. It was his 11th career pole, though his first at Richmond. He narrowly beat Denny Hamlin, Kurt Busch and A.J. Allmendinger, who will occupy the first two rows at the start of Sunday’s race, the ninth of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup season.

So far this season, Logano has one win and four top four finishes.

He ranks second in points to Kevin Harvick, who has two wins and four second-place finishes in just eight races this season. Harvick will start in fifth position on Sunday. Matt Kenseth, last week’s winner in Bristol, starts in eighth position in Richmond.

The race, which was originally scheduled to be run under the lights on Saturday, was postponed by rain until Sunday afternoon. Fox will provide coverage of the Toyota Owners 400 beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
