Jeff Gordon is a four-time winner of the GEICO 500, and he has the pole position for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race from Talladega, Ala.

The pole is the third of the season for Gordon, thanks to a qualifying speed of 194.793 mph on Friday. It is also his third career pole at Talladega, leading all active drivers. Gordon, on his farewell tour this season, won the GEICO 500 in 2000, 2004, 2005 and 2007.
Hendrick Motorsports teammates Kasey Kahne (sixth in points this season), Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (eighth in points) and Jimmie Johnson (fourth in points) start close behind Gordon on Sunday, in second, fourth and fifth position, respectively.
Points leader Kevin Harvick, who has finished in the top two in seven of nine races this season, including a second-place finish last week in Richmond, starts in 24th position. Joey Logano, second in points, starts 21st.
Fox will provide coverage from Talladega beginning at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
