The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will descend upon Kentucky Speedway for the Quaker State 400 on Saturday. It’s the 18th race of the season, and it brings some significant changes as the sport tries to improve its on-track product.

Here’s how you can watch Saturday’s Quaker State 400 from Kentucky Speedway.
New rules designed to promote more passing will be in place for the first time on Saturday. Those rules include cutting the spoiler height from 6 inches to 3.5 inches and the front splitter overhand by 1.75 inches. For now it’s a test run, only for Kentucky, though if it has the desired effect of promoting passing (due to reduced downforce), it could be exercised on different tracks going forward.
Many have complained that that there aren’t enough opportunities for passing, from fans to the drivers themselves. With a reduced downforce, drivers will (in theory) need to come off the gas more around corners. This would allow other drivers to potentially take more risks trying to pass in these situations.
Saturday’s race is set to get underway at 7:30 p.m. ET, with a scheduled green flag of approximately 7:45 p.m., according to Jayski.com. Television coverage of the race will be provided by NBCSN, with pre-race coverage beginning at 7 p.m. There will be an online stream available at NBC Sports Live Extra.
