He won’t be starting on the front row, but Talladega will give Carl Edwards a chance to continue his hot streak on Sunday.

NASCAR visits its fastest raceway on Sunday for the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. The race will start at 1 p.m. ET on Fox, with rookie Chase Elliott on the pole.

Edwards has been the talk of the sport over the last week after his thrilling win at Richmond a week ago. Edwards forcibly (but cleanly) moved teammate Kyle Busch out of the way in the final turn to win his second race of the season. Rarely do you see teammates jostle like that, so the move lent NASCAR a hot storyline heading into Talladega. Edwards starts ninth on Sunday; Busch starts 17th.

This is Elliott’s second pole of the season, having won the pole for the Daytona 500 in his first race in the No. 24 car. He crashed out early in that race, so he’ll hope for a better finish on Sunday.

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is the defending champion of the Talladega spring race. He’ll start third in the GEICO 500.

The race can be followed online both before and during the action using Fox Sports Go. The race will be rebroadcast on television Monday at 8:30 a.m. ET.
