20 of the best NASCAR drivers will take part in a $1 million, winner-take-all free-for-all with the 2016 NASCAR All-Star Race on Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The star-studded field includes winners of point races from 2015 and 2016, plus previous winners of the All-Star Race. That allows for such stars as Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch, Joey Logano, Tony Stewart and 2015 Sprint Cup champion Kyle Busch, to name a few.

The format of the race this year is a little different. There are three segments, the first two lasting 50 miles each. Then the final segment, consisting of 13 laps, will have the unique caveat that only the top 9, 10 or 11 drivers (the number determined by draw) can make a pit stop between the second and third segment, with those cars getting to start in front of the finishing third segment.

Johnson is a four-time winner of the All-Star Race (2003, 2006, 2012-13). Denny Hamlin won it in 2015.

The timing on Saturday could be a little tricky, with rain washing away or postponing all of Friday’s events, including the Sprint Showdown. But for now the All-Star Race is expected to go on as scheduled, until we hear otherwise.

Fox Sports 1 has pre-race coverage beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET, followed by race coverage at 9 p.m. with Mike Joy on play-by-play, joined by analysts Darrell Waltrip, Jeff Gordon and Larry McReynolds. The broadcast will also feature reporting by Jamie Little, Vince Welch and Matt Yocum.

The race can be followed online both before and during the action using Fox Sports Go.
