NASCAR All-Star Race 2016: Starting grid and lineup

The 2016 NASCAR Spring All-Star race is finally here after a rainy weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina. The midseason challenge features 20 top drivers in the sport battling for a $1 million prize.

Kevin Harvick has the pole position for the race, which is split into three segments of 50, 50 and 13 laps. Harvick won the All-Star Race in 2007.

Earlier Saturday, qualifying for the All-Star Race was washed away by rain, with starting order determined by owners points.

Jimmie Johnson is a four-time winner of the All-Star race, with his last victory here coming in 2013. He starts in fifth place on Saturday night. Denny Hamlin, the winner of the 2015 All-Star Race, starts in 12th position this year.

The Sprint Showdown on Saturday saw three players — Trevor Bayne, Greg Biffle and Kyle Larson — earn spots in the featured All-Star Race on Saturday night, with Chase Elliott and Danica Patrick capturing two more spots by finishing first and second, respectively, in the fan vote.

Fox Sports 1 will televise the Sprint Showdown from Charlotte beginning with the ‘NASCAR Raceday’ pre-show at 8:30 p.m. ET, with host Chris Myers. Race coverage begins at 9 p.m. with Mike Joy calling the race, in the booth with analysts Jeff Gordon and Darrell Waltrip, with race analysis by Larry McReynolds and Jamie Little, Vince Welch and Matt Yocum.
