NBA Draft Rumors: Quincy Miller Says He’s Healthy, But Questions Still Surround His Stock

Quincy Miller wasn't the story of the Baylor Bears this season like some had figured he would be coming out of high school. The small forward was still able to earn Co-Freshman of the Year honors in the Big 12 conference as he recovered from an ACL injury, but rumor has it that NBA executives still aren't sure of his health heading into the 2012 NBA Draft.

It didn’t help that Miller apparently struggled a bit at last week’s NBA Draft Combine, but he told Sports Illustrated’s Sam Amick that he felt good in Chicago.

“I’m physically back to 100 percent,” Miller said. “During the season it was progressively getting better, but now I’m back to 100 percent. I think teams believe that I’m back. They’ve seen me play enough. They see my movement is way better than it was during the season. They see a different player now.”

While that’s better than being less than 100 percent, of course, Amick’s notes went on to implicate that NBA decision makers aren’t quite as sure of Miller as he is of himself.

Miller said he expects to go anywhere from the late lottery to “the 20s,” but one general manager said he could fall to the second round. Miller said he has workouts scheduled with Cleveland (Nos. 4, 24, 33 and 34 picks), Detroit (9, 39 and 44), Golden State (7, 30, 35 and 52), Houston (14 and 16), Denver (20, 38 and 50) and Dallas (17 and 55).

This will definitely be an interesting story to keep an eye on going forward as Miller goes through workouts, giving a better indication as to where he’ll end up being selected in the Draft.
