Why National Politics And Sports Don’t Mix: Boomshakalaka Edition

Jampolssbn_medium

↵The long-awaited reboot of the NBA Jam video game franchise was released last week, giving basketball fans a return the over-the-top arcade style action of yesterday. The game, incidentally, also provided inane fodder to cable news, somehow. Such is the law of headaches from unintended consequences.

↵Why? Did one of the Tea Party slogans win the game announcer catchphrase online submission contest? Not exactly, but it turns out Sarah Palin, John McCain, Joe Biden and Barack Obama, as well as other famous non-athlete types, are unlockable characters. And - shock of shocks! - they have differing attributes. Turns out the game creators gave Obama better skill ratings than Sarah Palin. Why might they do a thing like that? Heinous political bias, of course. Get ‘em, Fox News!

↵Join me, won’t you, in shaking our Wiimotes in indignation! Wait, make sure you’re pointing it at the sensor. No, look, it’s over the TV. Ah! You’re doing it wrong. Fine, whatever, forget it. Just give it here.
