The Heat Scored Nine Points In A Quarter? Is This Some Kind Of Joke?

According to the folks doing TNT's broadcast of the Heat/Celtics game, Miami's first quarter score of nine points was lower than any quarter last season. The previous low was 12 points. That's a three-point difference. Coincidence?

↵There’s so much to be said about this. So ... where to begin? Well for one, we all know Rome wasn’t built in a day. It takes time for chemistry to form on a newly assembled basketball squad, regardless of the talent you’ve acquired.

↵Also, it’s entirely possible that we’ve hyped this game into oblivion, and anything less than a championship-caliber game from the *new* Big Three (can we call them something else? Los Tres Amigos, perhaps?) is a disappointment. Either way, nine points in a quarter is pretty dismal for any team, let alone one with this much potential.

↵And maybe, just maybe, the Celtics are a pretty good team. I mean it’s not a stretch to say that the original Big Three are still pretty darn talented, and with Shaq clogging the lane and a general size advantage inside over the Heat, it’s not an impossibility that the Celtics are simply outplaying the Heat. Weird, I know.
