Miami Heat Not Worried Too Much About Dwyane Wade’s Hamstring Injury

Even though Dwyane Wade said yesterday that he expects to be out for two weeks with a hamstring injury suffered in the Miami Heat’s first preseason game against the Pistons, the team doesn’t seem overly concerned. Coach Erik Spolestra relayed that lack of concern after yesterday’s game.

Via Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel:

"It's a slight tweak of his hamstring. We'll reevaluate it in a week," Spoelstra said. "It was really an inconsequential play. Hopefully, it's not too serious.

"We'll still be able to move forward with the guys we have."

The rest of the team relayed that message. LeBron James said that he thought Wade had a hamstring issue the past couple of days, so he’s not surprised Wade reaggravated in during the game. Chris Bosh, for his part, said he didn’t even think Wade got hurt at the time. SB Nation’s Heat blog Peninsula is Mightier wrote that Wade should be back in time for the October 26th season opener against Boston.

I’m sure the Heat will be cautious with Wade, due to all the talent they have around him, but it doesn’t look like this injury is serious.
