Joakim Noah Called Kevin Garnett Ugly, But He Was Being Ironic... Right?

Joakim Noah is one of the best young centers in the NBA, and he’s also incredibly thoughtful and entertaining, so his opinions are not to be taken lightly. When asked about everyone’s favorite bully, Kevin Garnett, he told ESPN Radio:

I had his poster in my room. I used to wear his jersey. And the truth is my rookie year, I was in admiration of this guy, and he kind of shut me down. And he was very mean to me my rookie year. ... He’s not nice. I talk a lot of trash out there, but c’mon, be a little sensitive. Be sweet.

Eh, fine. We could make fun of him and quote Isaiah Thomas here, but there’s no reason. Be sensitive? Be sweet? Everyone’s entitled to their opinions. However... He also said this:

He’s a very mean guy. Ugly, too.

See? He IS thoughtful and entertaining!

That’s like Vin Baker calling someone an alcoholic. Or Kanye West calling someone arrogant. Or the NCAA questioning someone’s integrity. Or LeBron James calling someone disloyal. Or Kobe Bryant making a rape joke. Or Charlie Villanueva saying that someone looks like... Okay, you get the joke.

...Because Joakim Noah calling someone else ugly? He had to be joking, right?
