This is going to sound weird, but I feel like one of the most exciting things that ever happens in a basketball game is when a visiting player makes a play that either silences an opposing crowd or actually gets them buzzing. There’s really no better validation for a basketball player than that. When the opposing fans are able to give you credit for a play you made, it had to have been really good.

Try to ignore the Rockets color commentators for a second (yes, Clyde Drexler, I know Westbrook is shorter than Shane Battier. Thanks for that insight). Just listed to that Rockets crowd. You can tell there are about 15,000 people all having side conversations with each other about how cool that dunk was. They don't want to be too loud, because they don't want to cheer against their team, but they also can't help themselves. That's validation.
