LeBron James has given his opinion on everything recently, whether it was needed or not. Thursday's target was the NBA itself, as he opined contraction would be good for the league. No, it wasn't because teams are hemorrhaging money at an astounding rate while owners struggle to pinch pennies. His answer, predictably, was more superficial than that, involving his own decision to join the Miami Heat.

↵↵“Hopefully the league can figure out one way where it can go back to the ‘80s where you had three or four All-Stars, three or four superstars, three or four Hall of Famers on the same team,” James said. “The league was great. It wasn’t as watered down as it is [now].”
↵↵It all makes sense now. LeBron joined the Heat as a crusade to bring the league back to the days of old, where all-stars filled every team.

The Miami superstar advocated, essentially, redistributing star players to other teams throughout the league. Take Kevin Love off the Minnesota Timberwolves and send him elsewhere; pick and choose players and rearrange the balance; contract teams, without calling it contraction, that don't have enough star power.
