After a sloppy first quarter, the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks have finally woken up on this Christmas Day matinee. The two teams put some points on the board in the second quarter, as the Bulls now lead 54-52 at halftime.
Bulls Vs. Knicks, NBA Christmas Day: Carlos Boozer Leads Chicago To 54-52 Halftime Lead
Carlos Boozer is leading the way for Chicago with 15 points and 10 rebounds already. He got it going late in the quarter, and his buzzer-beating jump shot is the reason the Bulls are winning. Derrick Rose added 13 points for the Bulls, but is just 6-17 from the field.
Amare Stoudemire, naturally, is leading the Knicks with 14 points on 7-10 shooting. He’s scored efficiently from the field, but has yet to get to the free-throw line. Landry Fields and Toney Douglas added eight points apiece, as the Knicks shot 6-12 from three-point range in the first half.
The Knicks are shooting a scorching 55 percent from the field, but they are being outrebounded 31-21. Because of that margin, the Bulls have attempted 14 more field goals than the Knicks.
