The second quarter of the Christmas Day opener between the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks was entertaining. The third quarter, somehow, was even better. After a slow, jittery start, these two teams have put on a show. After three quarters, the Knicks lead 85-83.
Bulls Vs. Knicks, NBA Christmas Day: New York Takes 85-83 Lead Into Fourth Quarter
The Knicks continue to shoot the lights out against an elite Bulls defense. They are hitting nearly 56 percent of their shot attempts and have made a whopping 12 of their 20 three-point attempts. Four Knicks are in double figures, led by Amare Stoudemire with 20 points. Danilo Gallinari came alive in the third and has 15 points, while Raymond Felton has added 14.
The Bulls kept pace with an excellent offensive performance of their own. After a slow start, Derrick Rose has come alive, scoring 10 points in the quarter. He now has 23 points in the game, to go along with eight assists, six rebounds and six steals. Carlos Boozer has 21 points and 11 rebounds to support Rose’s efforts.
This should be an outstanding finish, to say the least.
