VIDEO: Dwight Howard Called For Rare 10-Second Free-Throw Violation

Dwight Howard isn't a very good free-throw shooter to begin with, especially in key moments. Therefore, Howard has recently begun to try a new tactic at the line: take as much time as he wants and hope nobody calls him out on it. So far, the tactic has worked, in that Howard hasn't been called for a 10-second violation yet.

However, that wasn't the case today. During the second quarter of the Orlando Magic's win over the Boston Celtics, Howard stepped up to the line and stayed there for about 15 seconds. Referee Bob Delaney wasn't amused and called a rare 10-second violation, prompting Hubie Brown to explode in shock on the air. When Hubie Brown says he's never seen something like that in his life, then it's pretty extraordinary.
↵The Magic ended up winning the game, but Howard wasn’t the same after that play. He had just six points in the game and hit just 4-10 from the free-throw line. Maybe Dwight should try to go extra-fast on his free-throw attempts to overcompensate.
