And So It Comes To This: LeBron James Plays The Race Card

Whether you approved of the way LeBron James handled his "talent-taking" this summer, there's little room for discussion when it comes to the all-important question, "Does LeBron get it?" Does he understand why the people of Cleveland, and all of Ohio for that matter, might be upset with the way he handled things? Does he realize that by ripping their hearts out on national television and leaving them for a conference rival, they can be expected to be angry or hold a grudge?

The answer is unequivocally “no.”

And just to make sure you truly get that point, LeBron is officially throwing the race card on the table. He and his business partner Maverick Carter said just that on CNN Wednesday night.

“I think so at times. It’s always a race factor,” LeBron said as part of a segment that focused largely on Carter.
“It definitely played a role in some of the stuff coming out of the media, things that were written,” Carter said.

It’s always a race factor? That’s a disturbing view into LeBron’s psyche.

Well, the good news for Heat fans is that when they start complaining that Miami didn't win the NBA championship this year, they'll understand that race will be the reason they're complaining. Glad that's settled.
