Kevin Garnett has returned to the Boston Celtics lineup after a nine-game absence, and he’s brought Boston’s customary balanced offense with him. The Celtics are shooting nearly 60 percent from the field as a team, and they lead Orlando 55-54 at halftime.
Magic Vs. Celtics: Balanced Scoring Effort Leads Boston To 55-54 Halftime Lead
No Celtics player has taken more than six shots in the contest. Ray Allen is the only player in double figures, with 11 points, but nine different Celtics players have scored in the contest. Rajon Rondo continues to lead the show flawlessly, with eight assists and just one turnover.
The problem is that the Magic are playing well too. After a slow start, they were rescued by Ryan Anderson. Anderson came in and hit four three-pointers for 14 points to get Orlando back into the game. From there, Dwight Howard did the rest. He has 18 points and six rebounds already, and is getting Boston’s big men in foul trouble.
To win, the Magic will need to get some of their struggling perimeter players going. Orlando’s outstanding perimeter quintet of Jameer Nelson, Hedo Turkoglu, Jason RIchardson, Gilbert Arenas and J.J. Redick is shooting a combined 3-14 from the field and has scored just 13 points. They will need to improve going forward.
