Brandon Bass Can End NBA Lockout With Rap

In his new music video, Brandon Bass shares his "billion dollar dreams" and a desire to ball. But the NBA lockout will prevent the Magic forward from collecting all of his $4 million salary this season, slowing down both Bass' dollar-related dreaming and ability to ball.

Can Bass save the lockout through the power of his raps? We find inspiration in a surprising place -- and of course watch the music video -- after the jump.

First, the video:

We can’t be sure if Bass is capable of ending the lockout with his musical stylings, but there is recent precedent in the world of another oppressive regime. Look no further than the rebels in Libya:

Libyan rebel fighter Jaad Jumaa Hashmi cranks up the volume on his pickup truck’s stereo when he heads into battle against Muammar Qaddafi’s forces.

He looks for inspiration from a growing cadre of amateur rappers whose powerful songs have helped define the revolution.

Fair comparison? Perhaps a stretch. But we can probably count at least one suppoter: Bass’ coach Stan Van Gundy -- who indirectly compared David Stern to Moammar Gadhafi back in March.
