‘The Whore Of Akron’ Is Finally Realized

Bron_medium

↵Almost a year ago, there was a minor controversy in Miami when the Heat pulled credentials for a visiting reporter from Esquire. That reporter was Scott Raab, and he was writing a book at the time. Back then I said that whether you agreed with LeBron’s Decision™ or not, you had to admire the scale of Raab’s pursuits.

↵↵“His hate for LeBron is a glorious spectacle of bile, sneering, and deep, vigilant loathing, never missing an opportunity to remind LeBron just how awful a person he is.”

↵↵And now we have the book. Or, the book’s finally been written, and we have a long excerpt at Esquire, pulsating with that loathing again, but also a surprising measure of cheery self-deprecation that lends a certain charm to things. We’ll talk more about the book in the coming weeks (it’s slated for release on November 15th), but for now, the sample is a fantastic read.
