Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant have rarely been able to be considered consolation prizes during their stellar basketball careers, but that's exactly how some are looking at the two All-Stars while discussing the "World All-Star Classic" tour that several NBA stars are taking part in during the NBA lockout. The tour is scheduled to on Sunday in Puerto Rico.
Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant Headline World All-Star Classic In Puerto Rico
The "World All-Star Classic" has stops scheduled in London, Macau and Melbourne, Australia after the Puerto Rico stop, but the fans are a bit disappointed that several NBA stars have pulled out after previously saying they would play. Among the stars to pull out so far are LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose, Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook, but the new batch of players included doesn't include any slouches.
According to a press release received by the Associated Press, the World All-Star Classic will feature Dwyane Wade, Amare Stoudemire, Blake Griffin, Carlos Boozer, Chris Kaman, Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard, Kevin Garnett, Kevin Love, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo and Tyson Chandler along with the aforementioned Bryant and Durant.
So yes, a bit of the luster was lost, that certainly is not a bad roster to spread goodwill across the world.
