Kevin Garnett has a history of, well, being Kevin Garnett, and picking on players that are not close to his own size. Knowing this, it should come as little surprise that Garnett didn't take too kindly to Washington Wizards rookie Jordan Crawford trash-talking him during a Los Angeles pick-up game last month.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports tells the story in the middle of a long feature on Ricky Rubio, who kind of just sat there and watched.
On this day, everyone was still buzzing over Washington Wizards guard Jordan Crawford’s(notes) mistake of talking too much to Garnett a day earlier. When Boston Celtics teammate Paul Pierce(notes) tried to do Crawford a favor and push him away, Crawford urged Pierce to let K.G. go.
"I thought they were just kidding," Rubio says, and maybe Crawford did too.
There are hard lessons to be learned in this league, lockout or not lockout. Eventually, Garnett reminded Crawford about that with a smack upside his head, a reminder to Crawford, Rubio and the rest of them: Elders will be respected.
Crawford, for his part, downplayed the incident in a text to Michael Lee of the Washington Post, saying “Stop believing everything you read.” But let’s think about this for a second. On one side, you have a player who has a) admitted he pumps himself by trash-talking, and b) once said he thinks he can be better than Michael Jordan. On the other, you have Kevin Garnett. Pardon me if I believe what I read here.
And then there’s Rubio, standing in the middle, likely shell-shocked. I’d pay good money to see his facial expression during that exchange.
