Mike Miller Injury: Miami Heat Swingman Could Be Sidelined For Two Months

Mike Miller might not be with the Miami Heat for long if they decide to use the newly-reformed amnesty clause to rid his salary from the books. If they don't decide to release him and his salary cap hit, however, the swingman might still not play with them for the next two months as he rehabs from a recent injury.

Miller underwent surgery for a sports hernia earlier this week and could be sidelined up to two months as he heals, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel’s Ira Winderman. It’s just the most recent setback for Miller as he’s been able to play in just 95 of 164 possible games over the past two seasons.

“That’s just my luck right now,” he said when reached by phone. “I’ve just got terrible luck. I don’t know what’s going on.”

The sharpshooter has suffered injuries to both of his thumbs in the past, apparently hindering his ability, so this most recent setback does nothing to squelch any injury concerns. That isn't a good thing, either, as he looks like he could be headed toward the free agent market rather than competing for a championship with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the rest of his Heat teammates this season.
