Timberwolves Vs. Bucks: Kevin Love Not Enough As Milwaukee Beats Minnesota 98-95

Kevin Love had 31 points and 20 rebounds for the Minnesota Timberwolves, but it wasn’t enough as the Milwaukee Bucks got the 98-95 win.

There are reasons for Minnesota Timberwolves fans to be excited, from Ricky Rubio to Derrick Williams to Kevin Love. Only one of the three young studs had a strong game on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Bucks -- Love scored 31 points, 19 of them from the line, and had 20 mammoth rebounds. But it wasn't enough, the Bucks came away with a 98-95 win.

Brandon Jennigs had a great game for Milwaukee, scoring 24 points on 7-14 shooting, earning 10 free throw attempts of his own. Rookie Jon Leuer was much more productive than his more high-profile colleagues on the other side, scoring 14 points in 20 minutes and converting a vital three-point play late. Andrew Bogut, one of the poor guys tasked with trying to box out Love, fouled out in 31 minutes, and shot just 7-20 from the floor for 15 points. That created a need for more Leuer, who played less than a minute in the Bucks' opening day loss to the Bobcats.

Rubio played 27 minutes, scoring six points with four assists and three turnovers. Williams played 19 minutes off of the bench and had three points, five rebounds and four turnovers. The Wolves had 25 turnovers, proving true coach Rick Adelman's preseason declaration that he had never seen a team so adept at coughing up the ball.
