The Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder played a rather entertaining seven-game series before Kevin Durant and friends eventually advanced to the Western Conference Finals. All-Star swingman Rudy Gay will be healthy for Wednesday night's rematch, however, as the Grizzlies look to avenge last season's playoff loss in a game scheduled to tip-off on NBA TV at 8 p.m.
Thunder Vs. Grizzlies: Memphis Looks To Avenge Loss To Kevin Durant In Last Year’s Playoffs
The Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies will rekindle their playoff rivalry on Wednesday night when the two teams featuring Kevin Durant and Rudy Gay match-up for a game on NBA TV.
The Thunder opened the season with victories over the Orlando Magic on Christmas day and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night, but Wednesday evening's game should provide a solid barometer of just how tough they'll be this season. Oklahoma City has solid scorers to lean on in Durant, Russell Westbrook and even James Harden off the bench, but it'll be interesting to see how they handle the Grizzlies after struggling at times during last season's series.
The Grizzlies, on the other hand, are looking for their first win of the season after dropping Monday night's opener to the San Antonio Spurs. Gay scored 19 points and added 10 rebounds in his return from his season-ending shoulder injury, but it wasn't enough as the Grizzlies turned the ball over 24 times -- with each starter accounting for at least three of the giveaways.
Following Wednesday evening's game, the Thunder will play their third nationally televised game on Thursday as they host the reeling Dallas Mavericks on TNT while the Grizzlies are off until Friday's match-up with the Houston Rockets.
