The New York Knicks looked great in their first game of the season as they hung on to defeat the Boston Celtics on Christmas day, but they've since had to travel cross-country for a game against the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors will be without Stephen Curry, but the West Coast trip still won't be easy for Carmelo Anthony and company when the game tips off at 10:30 on NBA TV.
Knicks Vs. Warriors: Carmelo Anthony And Friends Won’t Have To Deal With Stephen Curry
The Golden State Warriors will be without Stephen Curry on Wednesday night as they host Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks in a game scheduled for a 10:30 p.m. tip-off on NBA TV.
The Knicks picked up a 106-104 victory over the Celtics on Sunday behind 37 points from Anthony, but early-season victories haven't been the norm for New York in the past as they last won their first two games of the campaign during the 1999-2000 season. With Amare Stoudemire looking to have rounded out his game and Tyson Chandler in the fold, however, it seems they could be poised to update that statistic against the Warriors on Wednesday.
The Warriors will help that effort out a bit as All-Star sharpshooter Stephen Curry will be forced to wear a suit for Wednesday night's game due to an ankle injury suffered in Monday night's victory over the Chicago Bulls. Monta Ellis and former Knicks forward David Lee will likely pick up the slack, but it'll be difficult to equal the output of the Knicks.
Following their NBA TV match-up, the Knicks will stay on the west coast to play the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night and then the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. The Warriors next game will be a New Year's Eve affair at home as they host the Philadelphia 76ers.
