The New York Knicks take on the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday night in Staples Center. Before they do, Carmelo Anthony wants to get as many Los Angeles sports fans against him as possible.

“I thought it would have been good for the Lakers and good for the whole NBA,” Anthony said. “As a guy who loves to compete, I would have liked to see him out West with the Lakers. For me — I’ve been battling the Lakers for the last seven years when I was in the Western Conference — I liked that.”
Clippers fans won't get the chance to welcome Carmelo back to LA with those sentiments in mind, their only game this season takes place in NY in April. Probably for the best.
