Kevin Love Is An All-Star, And Getting Bigger Means Going Miniature

Kevinlovebobblehead_medium

On the heels of his ridiculous (and ultimately succesful) campaign to be included in the All-Star Game, you may have thought you'd seen the last of Kevin Love promotions. But look at the bobblehead above, it's clear. The infatuation with Love is only beginning, and the ultimate mark of stardom has officially been bestowed on Minnesota's Great White Hope.

Speaking of which, does the uncanny valley apply to bobbleheads? Because that looks A LOT like Kevin Love. Maybe too much. I’m not sure if I’d be cool having that on my nightstand.

In any case, the Timberwolves may not have much to offer fans in Minnesota, but they do have Love, and they're going to take advantage. And his teammates are on board 100%. Here's video from last week, when the team found out about Love will play in the All-Star Game.

As Love told ESPN Radio’s Scott Van Pelt:

It was huge for me. ... In the end, I felt tremendously honored, tremendously blessed. They were all happy for me. I think it was shown on SportsCenter and different outlets, my reaction and the teams reaction. … All the way around it was a pretty good reaction and they got it on camera.

And it’s good to see Love getting some love (sorry), with his T’Wolves teammates supporting him rather than getting jealous. He’s not the most talented player in the NBA, but he’s one of the hardest workers, and he’s quickly become one of the most entertaining, engaging people in basketball. His bobblehead may be a little creepy, but it’s still a pretty great sign. Kevin Love isn’t going anywhere, and for the rest of us, having him around should be a lot of fun.
