Lakers Vs. Celtics Final Score: Ray Allen Breaks Three-Point Record; Boston Falls, 92-86

Ray Allen got his record out of the way early, snapping Reggie Miller’s career three-point mark midway through the first quarter. It was the Los Angeles Lakers, though, getting the last laugh in a 92-86 win.

Down eight at the half, the Lakers turned the defense on in the second half, holding Boston to just 15 points in the third quarter and 18 in the fourth. Los Angeles made the deficit up, and then some, coming out of the half before cruising down the stretch to secure the win.

Kobe Bryant led the way for the Lakers with a strong second half, finishing with 23 points in the win. Pau Gasol added a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Andrew Bynum had 16 points, Shannon Brown had 12 and Lamar Odom had 10 points.

Ray Allen, the record-breaker himself, finished with a team-high 20 points, but was just 3-8 from downtown. All five starters were in double figures as Allen was joined by Paul Pierce’s 15 points, Kendrick Perkins’ 12, Rajon Rondo’s 12 and Kevin Garnett’s 10. Rondo and Garnett each had double-doubles, with Rondo adding 10 assists and Garnett adding 11 rebounds.

The Lakers improved to 37-16 with the win and hold an 11-game lead in the Pacific division. Boston fell to 38-14, but hold an 11.5-game lead over the New York Knicks in Atlantic division.
