J.J. Hickson had a huge block at the end of regulation in Friday night's Clippers-Cavaliers game, but it was another fourth quarter rejection that stole the show. Though Hickson saved the game by getting a piece of Baron Davis' shot at the buzzer, it was his refusal to become the latest in a long line of Blake Griffin victims that opened some eyes. Griffin spun, lost Hickinson briefly and went up for the flush, only to be swatted with authority.

Here’s Hickson going up strong to reject Griffin, leading to a three on the other end.
Not only did he stuff Grffin clean, he sent the powerful dunk-machine straight to the floor, reeling after the unexpected rejection. It wasn’t just a highlight reel play, it was a five-point swing for the Cavs, who needed every point they could get down the stretch as they tried to figure out how to finally close a game.
Hickson stepped up in a big way on both ends of the floor as the Cavs snapped an NBA record 26 game losing streak. His 27 points, 14 rebounds -- eight of which were offensive -- and four blocks, including the monster-swat of Griffin, were huge for a Cleveland team that needed a win in the worst way.
The best part for Hickson? Avoiding a posterization at the hands of Griffin. Because of that, we’ll call his night a rousing success.
