VIDEO: John Wall Bounces An Alley-Oop To Blake Griffin, Makes Dunk Contest Irrelevant

John Wall will be passing to Wizards teammate JaVale McGee during Saturday night's Sprite Slam Dunk Contest, while Blake Griffin will use Baron Davis as his distributor. Any chance we could mix that up? Because Wall's bounce pass alley-oop to Griffin (you read that correctly) during Friday's T-Mobile Rookie Challenge made anything McGee or Davis can offer irrelevant.

The idea alone -- combining the most fundamental of plays, the bounce pass, with the more bombastic and new-school alley-oop -- is better than anything the Dunk Contest has offered since Gerald Green’s Birfday Cake dunk. No props needed, just an insane (in multiple ways) distributor and a vicious dunker.

Speaking of insane and vicious (amirite Craigers Sager?!), DeMarcus Cousins offered up his own alley-oop to Kentucky teammate Wall, serving as an upside-down exclamation mark on a game in which Cousins scored 33 points and Wall set the assist record with 22.

DeShawn Stevenson is jealous of how much swing Wall got into that finish.
