He was the first Knick to be introduced, and like you'd expect, the applause in Madison Square Garden was deafening. One writer said he hadn't heard it that loud since Larry Johnson's four-pointer to beat the Pacers in 1999. "The reaction was great," Carmelo said. "I've never experienced anything like that before."
↵Were Knicks fans that desperate for a star? Yes, obviously. But that’s part of their charm!
↵There was smoke, there was triumphant video, there were 10-minute long standing ovations, there was another “Black and Yellow” remix (Stat and Melo, Stat and Melo, Stat and Melo), and... The entire show was just about as crazy as you’d expect. And even if it’s something we’ll look back on with sarcasm, it was, in every way, a hell of a moment.
