The Golden State Warriors cruised to a 100-77 win over the Minnesota TimberwolvesSunday night but the real story is that they also halted Kevin Love's NBA post-merger double-double streak at 53 games.
Kevin Love’s Double-Double Streak Ends At 53 Games
Love was pulled late in the fourth quarter with the Timberwolves trailing by more than 20 points. He had the rebounds (12) but only scored six points on 1-6 shooting. It was the first time since Nov. 19 that he failed to reach double-digits in both categories. He broke the Moses Malone's modern record on March 10. Wilt Chamberlain holds the all-time record at 227 consecutive games with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
And so, the only reason for anyone to get excited about Minnesota Timberwolves basketball in 2011 is officially done (Anthony Randolph excepted). Officially time to start thinking about the draft, Minny fans. Head over to Canis Hoopus to talk about Love's streak and the T'Wolves misfortunes.
