Legend’s Lawsuit Against Donald Sterling Dismissed, Clippers’ Owner Still Scum

A Los Angeles jury unanimously dismissed NBA legend Elgin Baylor's lawsuit against Donald T. Sterling today, reports Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times. Baylor, the longtime general manager of the L.A. Clippers, had sued the franchise owner over his dismissal, alleging racial and age-based discrimination. The suit brought some serious allegations as to unsavory decision and comments Sterling had made over the years, but 12 jurors found too little evidence to press forward.

↵Despite this, Donald Sterling is still scum, with a record that speaks for itself. My friend Jon Weinbach wrote the definitive Sterling takedown in 2009, and the Clippers’ boss has done nothing to clear his decades-old reputation as a real lout since. Sterling has been charged repeatedly with race-based housing discrimination and sexual harassment; most of the time, Sterling settles out of court to be rid the headache.

↵This time, he didn’t need to. Forgive me if I forget to congratulate him.
