Lou Williams sat out the final two weeks of the Philadelphia 76ers' regular season campaign due to a right hamstring strain, but the team expects the reserve guard to play Saturday in Philly's 2011 NBA Playoffs debut against the Miami Heat.
Lou Williams Expected To Play For Sixers In Game 1 Vs. Heat
The Sixers' offense is a bit shaky, especially in the backcourt where Jrue Holiday offers plenty of speed but little in the way of shooting. Williams plays behind Holiday and starting shooting guard Jodie Meeks, offering some bench punch. No Sixer averaged more than 15 points per game this season; Williams, despite playing just 23 minutes per game (sixth on the team) finished with a 13.7 ppg average.
Williams practiced with the Sixers for the first time since his injury on Friday, reports Jack McCaffery of the Delco Times. Andrew Iguodala also practiced after missing the Sixers’ final two regular season games, though the star wing never seemed like a threat to miss Game 1 against Miami.
Game 1 of Heat vs. Sixers tips off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
