As the Lakers begin the NBA Playoffs portion of their campaign to win a third consecutive NBA title, all the usual suspects are wearing the white, gold and purple: Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, and Trey Johnson.

...wait, hold on: who is Trey Johnson?
Well, Johnson is a NBA D-League call-up from the Bakersfield Jam, and he joined the Lakers earlier this week after illness and injury sidelined Steve Blake and Matt Barnes, respectively. He looks like this, was previously a draft pick of the Kansas City Royals (no, really), and Ridiculous Upside described his game as such:
Johnson can play both guard spots, but has been more of an off-guard with the Jam this year due to their already having two point guards on the roster -- and the team’s need for a go-to scorer. The generously listed at 6-foot-5 guard led the NCAA in scoring as senior at Jackson State in 2007 and has slowly upped his scoring average over his four (abbreviated) seasons in the D-League from 11.8 points per game in 2007-08 to 20.7 the following year, 21.3 last season and his league-leading 25.5 scoring average this season.So, no, Trey Johnson is not exactly a scrub. But for a guy who was toiling for a team in Bakersfield a week ago, living the D-League lifestyle, getting even a scrub’s minutes in a Lakers jersey in an NBA Playoffs game is probably more than one dream come true.
Johnson has played five minutes so far, making one shot and one free throw for three points.
