Knicks Vs. Celtics: Game 1 Could Be Start Of Classic Series

Ray Allen buried a three-pointer with 11.6 seconds remaining, lifting the Celtics to an 87-85 victory over the Knicks in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.

Knicks fans over at Posting And Toasting has concerns about Carmelo Anthony, who played terrible in the second half, and Amar'e Stoudemire, who didn't get nearly enough touches down the stretch. Most of all, however, was the knowledge that the Knicks probably should have won that game:

Well, that was the one to win, and the Knicks let it slip away.

Meanwhile, over at CelticsBlog, they’re slightly more thrilled by the outcome, though “if the rest of the playoffs will be like this, I’m going to need a pacemaker, and one of those life alert necklaces.”

Ray Allen was obviously the hero for the C's but don't forget Jermaine O'Neal's efforts on the evening as well:

If I had to give a game ball to someone, it would probably be Ray, for hitting timely shot after timely shot, but Jermaine O’Neal’s 6 for 6 shooting effort and more importantly 4 blocks (but again, a poor rebounding night!) to go with stellar defense was just a joy to see.

Keep an eye on Posting and Toasting as well as CelticsBlog for more updates, recap and analysis before Game Two.
