In the past decade, exactly two NBA teams have failed to win a single playoff game: the Charlotte Bobcats, who didn't even hang a shingle until 2004, and the New York Knicks, who were swept out of the NBA Playoffs by the Boston Celtics on Sunday. The Los Angeles Lakers have 86 playoff wins over that span, and even the L.A. Clippers have seven! That's some perspective: the Clippers are beating the Knicks 7-0 in playoff wins over the past 10 years.

The drought will end soon enough, of course; had Amar'e Stoudemire or Chauncey Billups been healthy, the Knicks would likely have peeled off a Game 2 win in Boston. With Carmelo Anthony, a solid playoff performer his entire career, in tow, the Knicks are well-positioned to get back in the postseason regularly and maybe, if the team is built up around him and Stoudemire, challenge for a title.
Don't forget that until the playoff berth this season, the Knicks shared with the Minnesota Timberwolves the longest active playoff drought in the league, despite living in the usually shallow Eastern Conference. The Knicks ended that streak of six seasons with a postseason bid. Baby steps. Baby steps.
