The 76ers hung with the Celtics throughout the first two quarters, but during the second half Boston was just too strong in what could be a preview of the first round of the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs. Philly were within four at halftime, but Boston pulled away in the end, winning emphatically by a score of 99-82. Their defense was stingy as always, and their effort on that end combined with some poor late shooting by the Sixers allowed them to pull away late for a 17 point win.

Rajon Rondo had another great night, putting up 16 points and 13 assists. Boston got scoring from all over and shot better than 50 percent from the field, while Philadelphia shot poorly throughout the second half, ending up on less than 40 percent shooting after shooting considerably better to start the game. After this encounter, the Celtics fans will certainly be hoping that this was a sign of things to come in the NBA playoffs.
