Dwight Howard has earned his second technical foul-related suspension of the year. Finally! The Orlando Magic center was T'd for his reaction after drawing a 10-second violation while considering a free throw attempt. The free throw delay has become a Howard specialty, but this time he tacked on another move: dumping the ball in an area vacant of referees instead of returning it to Bennett Salvatore.
Dwight Howard Earns 18th Technical Foul, Another Automatic Suspension
This is his 18th technical foul of the season, which merits an automatic suspension. His last suspension came just over a month ago -- NBA rules dictate that every other tech from the 16th onward equals a game missed.
He'll miss Orlando's Sunday game against the Chicago Bulls, giving him almost an entire week off. The call could still be overturned by the league, but the last thing anybody wants to do is encourage Howard to spend even more time contemplating his free throws.
